Janet Copps’ passion for art has led her to try various media in a variety of subjects both real and abstract. Whether painting with oils, acrylics or watercolour, on canvas, paper or silk, she is always trying to find ways to express her love of colour and the challenge of exploring new themes or techniques.

As a member of a number of local art organizations she attends workshops and paints with fellow artists and has shown her paintings in many juried shows. As much time as Janet has available, is spent painting, either at home, in local studios or en plein-air. She has traveled and painted from Canada’s East Coast to the West and to the Canadian Arctic in search of light and subjects to paint. Copps has also painted in the United States, Mexico, Australia and in various European locales. Two recent painting trips were to Pangnirtung on Baffin Island, and to Giverny, France where she spent twelve days painting in Monet’s garden Whether at home or traveling abroad she loves to paint and visit galleries. Janet is always ready to share her passion for art, or her love of light and colour with others.

Janet Copps had her paintings accepted in a number of Juried Shows in the GTA and has received awards for both landscape and abstract paintings. Her landscapes and other artworks are displayed in her studio, in the homes of family and friends, as well as in private and corporate collections in Canada, The United States, France and Australia. Each year Janet takes part in various art shows and tours, with groups of fellow artists and individually.
